Article 4 - What We Believe

  • We believe that the Bible is God’s Word.

  • It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives. Our decisions will be influenced by the Bible: God's Word, and biblical principles.

  • We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.

  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.

  • We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth’ we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.

  • We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be baptized in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts and the guidance to use them for His glory.

  • We believe in the power and significance of the worldwide Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together for fellowship, inspiration, teaching, prayer and the ‘breaking of bread’.

  • We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives, which is to worship God, fulfill our role in the Church and serve all people. “So use your whole body as an ‘instrument’ to do what is right for the glory of God.” Romans 6:13

  • We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and blessed lives in order to serve our family, friends and community at home and abroad.

  • We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.

Article 5 - Core Values

Love:

By living in the shadow of the perfect love of God, we grow closer to Him and each other. We believe that love is an action word that manifests itself through integrity, loyalty, honor, forgiveness, service, compassion and respect. As a church we love God and strive to model His example to care for and welcome, unconditionally and indiscriminately all people He brings to us.

Growth:

As the inspired Word of God and our handbook for life, we place high empasis on the teaching of the Bible so that our faith may grow as growth is a sign of life. We believe the marks of a maturing church are faith, hope and love. Our heart’s desire is that every guest, worshipper and leader who encounters our church experiences a maturing in their faith and in turn lives the life God has intended.

Excellence:

God is a good good Father and in turn we strive to offer only our best selves in work and worship. As ambassadors for Christ on assignment from the most high God we seek excellence in all of our endeavors for the Lord. Excellence is reached through diligent preparation and critical valuation of all that we do. Our allegiance to excellence means we embrace professional and spiritual education, leadership and development with humble hearts.

Creativity:

We embrace the inspiration and giftedness imparted by the Holy Spirit to all children of God for ministries of teaching, service, generosity, administration, music and dance. Our unique gifts enable us to offer a fresh contribution to the world and the IC Team.

Impact:

It is our sincere ambition to love all peoples whom the Lord brings into our midst. To serve with generosity and humility the body of Christ and communities here and abroad is our means to affect individuals for Christ. May we do all things for His glory.
